トフィーノの風景 save fukushima

ＡＰ通信が２５日に報じたところによると、カナダの西海岸、ブリテッシュ・コロンビア（ＢＣ）州政府は、日本からの大量の漂流物の漂着に備え、年明けに「州ツナミ瓦礫作業部会」を設置し、対策に乗り出す。
カナダ連邦政府、関係自治体を連携して対処するが、漂着物が「有害」なものなら、州政府が処理を担当することなる。
The B.C. government says it will begin working with national and municipal officials this January to prepare for the massive wave of debris heading to Pacific Northwest shores because of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Meanwhile, residents in the B.C. coastal community of Tofino are bracing themselves for the sad arrival of detritus from the devastating disaster, even while they debate amongst themselves whether the ruins have already started reaching the shore.

バンクーバー島西海岸の小さな港町トフィーノには、行ったことがあります。広い砂浜が広がる静かな場所でした。

ハーグ発のＡＦＰ電によると、オランダに本拠を置く国際環境団体のグリーンピースは７日、フクイチからおよそ６０キロに位置する福島市から妊婦と子どもを避難させるよう警告を発した。
The Dutch-based group lashed Tokyo after a probe by one of its nuclear experts, who called for the evacuation of pregnant women and children from Fukushima city, some 60 kilometres (37 miles) from the Fukushima nuclear plant.
グリーンピースの放射線防護の専門家がこのほど福島市入りし、同市周辺で数日間にわたり測定活動を行った結果、福島市のある地域がなお、「放射能で深刻に汚染されている」ことが確認された。

12月の雨 雑感
朝からかなりの雨脚です。「１２月の雨」というユーミンの歌がありますが、寒さはそれほどでもありません。昨日から始まった光のページェントも、この雨では人出がどうなるでしょうか。
