Further analysis of ash fall data during the 3/27 white plume period
showed that ash production did not diminish as was first thought.
Instead, it appeared that the ash in the white plume contained more
volcanic glass than ash from a brown plume.

噴煙が白色時には降灰量は茶色時の約１０〜２０％程度まで下がる
が、その代わり、白色時の噴煙の中の灰には茶色時の灰より多くの
火山ガラスが含まれている、とのこと。
